Dual study program at LEWA

Taking responsibility, shaping the future

In cooperation with the Cooperative State University in Horb, LEWA offers a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on design and development. The course consists of alternating practical phases in the company and theoretical phases at the university. After the 6th semester, graduates receive a “Bachelor of Engineering” degree.

Learning theory and applying it in practice

As a Bachelor of Engineering, you will use your technical expertise to design and build machines and systems for a wide range of applications. You will independently develop practical and economical solutions based on engineering science.

Study program

  • Each semester of the dual study program consists of two to three months of study at the university and a subsequent practical phase at LEWA.

  • The course ends after the 6th semester. Graduates are then awarded the title “Bachelor of Engineering”.

  • Under higher education law, the degree is equivalent to degrees from universities of applied sciences and universities and is recognized throughout Germany.

Further training opportunities

  • Master’s postgraduate course as part-time study program

  • Duration: 2 years (1.5 years if shortening is possible through recognition of practical phases)

  • Degree: e.g. MBA (Master of Business Administration)
